I just saw a post that said the Doctor deserves a better looking lady and I just cannot.

There appear to be two camps.

Camp ‘omg River will be mad’ and Camp ‘River won’t give a shit.’

You know what? You’re BOTH right. 

River WOULD be jealous. That is, young River. Check her out in First Night when she thinks someone might possibly be wearing her dress and going out on a date with her husband. She’s furious and storming around that TARDIS like a wife looking for a mistress.

BUT consider older River. The one who’s a lot less lovestruck, reckless and naive. Older River knows she’s his wife. She doesn’t feel threatened by a Dalek, let alone a young girl. I doubt she’d bat an eyelid to the Doctor sharing a few kisses with awed companions.

It really just depends at what point of her timeline she’s at!

I adore River Song. My main reason is because I’m so grateful that she makes the Doctor a better man, a happier man. Any woman who can ease some of the pain he goes through is an incredible person and I’m so glad it’s her.

She is bold, clever, beautiful, dangerous and intriguing, and for me, she’s made the show that little bit better by pushing it in directions its never gone before.

To be honest, River Song swept into my life and stole my heart just as she did the Doctor. 

And neither of us saw it coming.
